Hello friends,

Welcome to Annie’s Treasured Keepsakes our new on line shop. Our names are Amanda and Kerry and we are a mother and daughter team hoping to share with you our passion for making beautiful handmade sewn items to complement your home.

All our products are made at our home on the beautiful Central Coast of New South Wales in what we call our craft room where all our ideas come together while sitting at our craft table having a cuppa. We spend hours choosing fabrics, beautiful laces, beads, flowers and colour themes before our ideas begin to take shape.

We come from a family of crafters, skills which have been passed down from my great grandmother [ Nanna Mac], granny, my aunties and mum. Granny is now 89 and to this day still knits babies and young children’s clothes.

We named our business “Annie’s Treasured Keepsakes” after my great grandmother Annie McDonald. She is the inspiration behind our hobby, her love of sewing, knitting and crocheting for all her family and the local church fete has been carried down through the generations and we still have her handmade dolls and stuffed toys that she made all her grandchildren when we were young. There is nothing better than to be given a beautiful handmade gift which can become a treasured keepsake for years to come.

Mum and I are aged care nurses and mum has recently retired to look after my grandmother who has cancer and I am turning my hobby into a full-time profession. I started my sewing helping mum make babies and children’s clothes when I was young which we would sell at local markets. We then got interested in quilting and started attending craft shows where our love of sewing with beautiful fabrics and laces became the beginning of our new adventure crafting and sewing home décor.

We now make cushions, bags, needle books, journals, wall hangers and pincushions – we love everything vintage and shabby chic. Most of our products are adorned with beautiful laces, pearls, beads, ribbons, vintage buttons and doily’s and we frequently travel to the Southern Highlands and Canberra to buy our fabrics and travel to Sydney to buy our beautiful vintage French laces and lace fabrics once a month.

We are so excited about starting this new venture and hope you will love looking at what we make as much as we love making it. We are looking forward to making new friends and would to love to hear any feedback on what you think of our creations.
